Liquid carbon dioxide is recovered from a variety of sources such as ammonia and hydrogen plants,
purified and liquefied. It is delivered to our customers in liquid form, into onsite storage, for use in
high-volume customer applications. Carbon dioxide is stored as a liquid in specialised vessels which
can provide several days’ supply and be used on demand as either a liquid or a gas.
With regular worldwide shortages anaerobic digestion facilities are realising that their waste product
of CO2 is now actually a commodity.
AD Facilities are investing in CO2 capture plants and AD Fuels offer a regular collection service using
their fleet of cryogenic LCO2 tankers to transport their gas which they then sell to a number of
sectors as below:
- For the cleaning of carbon materials such as bottom ash
- For chilling and freezing
- Carbonation and dispensing of beverages
- Food extraction, for Modified Atmosphere Packaging (MAP)
- Dry ice for in-transit refrigeration
- Use of snow cleaning for devices
- To treat respiratory disorders and for surgical dilation
- As a replacement for CFCs in foamed plastics production
- For drinking water treatment and wastewater pH control
